> south
You step past a pile of unwashed clothes (amongst which you suspect
something has invented the wheel) and open the southern door. This room
is much larger. nornagon follows you inside, shutting the door behind the
two of you. There is the smell of new things. "This," nornagon announces,
"is openc2e."
> ask nornagon about openc2e
nornagon tells you that openc2e is an
open-source engine that is intended to run the Creatures series of games
on modern platforms.
> ask nornagon about creatures
You look at nornagon enquiringly. "Ah," he says, "once upon a time there
was an enterprising young game development studio by the name of
Cyberlife. They wrote
the first of what is now a three-and-a-half game series called Creatures.
In these games exist small furry things with a semblance of life."
nornagon descends into ruminations on philosophy, and whether or not
there really is a dog.
> look
Scurrying along workbenches are several two-inch-high furry things with
disproportionately large ears. They seem to be stumbling and running into
walls with alarming frequency. One furry thing has fixed its attention on
a red-and-white striped ball that is paying very little regard to the
laws of physics. The eastern wall is lined with shelves containing line
upon line of code.
> ask nornagon about cyberlife
They got bought by Gameware
Europe.
> look code
Some of this stuff dates back to 2004.
> ask nornagon about code
nornagon mumbles something about Git. "It's something like this..."
git clone git://github.com/ccdevnet/openc2e.git openc2e
> exits
Exits are: north.
